Y1 Variable Acceleration
What
If the motion has an acceleration that is not constant, we cannot use SUVAT. A different approach is required.
Students need to:
Know that velocity is the differential of displacement with respect to time
Know that acceleration is the differential of velocity with respect to time
That the area between a velocity/time graph and the horizontal (time) axis is the distance moved
If is important that you understand the basic principles of kinematics and are confident with differentiation and integration topics from Pure.
