Histograms
What
At GCSE you are expected to know different ways of presenting data including bar charts, scatter diagrams, stem-and-leaf, cumulative frequency graphs, box-plots and frequency polygons. The method of presenting data that causes the most difficulty is histograms.
You need to know:
That the frequency of presented by a histogram is equal to the area of the box, not it's height
How to draw a histogram
How to interpret a histogram
At A-level the focus will be on interpreting histograms. You are unlikely to be asked to draw one.Â
