Vectors
What
You have learnt the basic principles of vectors. You need to know:
that a vector is a construct with a size and a direction
how to represent vectors on a coordinate grid, using letters and using column vector notation
how to add vectors together and multiple a vector by a number
how to apply the vector mathematics to find the solution to problems
Vectors are very important at A-Level and this topic will be extended in a variety of ways so that you can use vectors to solve problems in different contexts. It is very important to have a solid understanding of the GCSE basics before you begin to learn the more complex aspects at A-Level. Vectors are used extensively in the Mechanics part of A-Level Maths.
